Cristina Demiany is a contemporary painter whose work reimagines mythology through the unseen moments in women’s stories, exploring transformation, tension, and psychological space.
Drawing from classical mythology and art history, her paintings shift attention away from well-known narrative climaxes toward quieter, more introspective moments that explore states of becoming, where identity is in flux and meaning is not yet resolved.
Working oils, her process emphasizes layered color and atmospheric depth, creating environments that feel immersive, emotionally charged, and suspended in time.
Prior to her current studio practice, Cristina led large-scale arts organizations at a national level, serving as Executive Director of the National Children’s Chorus of the United States, where she built and directed a multi-million dollar institution serving over 1,000 families. This experience continues to inform her perspective on both creative leadership and the business of art.
In addition to her studio work, Cristina is the host of The Professional Artist Podcast and an art business coach, where she helps artists build sustainable and successful careers.
Cristina holds a Master of Arts in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of California, Los Angeles. She lives and works in Palm Springs, California.
